Miniatures exhibition, tin and paper

In my mind, miniatures meant tin soldiers. When we arrived at the exhibition place, I realized it is not as simple as this.

We saw figurines from half an inch to one foot high. They were made with clay, tin, resin or paper, in 2D or 3D. Some people were painting them in front of us. Others explained their "tricks" to find small things : children toys, model-making...

And there were miniatures representing all times and all worlds. WW2 soldiers were near Roman warriors. Fairies stood near science fiction characters. Some were in 3D frames, others on tables, and 2D ones were put on velvet.

The most important part of the exhibition was made by army figurines. And, as the 70th anniversary of D-Day is near, there were a lot of WW2 soldiers.

We enjoyed visiting this exhibition but felt as "tourists" amongst specialists. Most people knew what they wanted to see or to buy and were asking a lot of questions. It seems to be a good hobby for people being patient and clever with their hands, and also interested in either history or fiction stories.
